Tyler meeting with an Arlington City Pastor

I was skiing with my family when I knew Tyler was meeting with Pastor John from IBCA, so I was only able to pray. 

But I have to believe that the prayers of a righteous person mattered in this instance. In fact, I am seeing the prayers of MANY righteous people making a difference through this entire journey.

I first met Pastor John many years ago, and I have grown to admire his love for Jesus, the Gospel, the local church, and of course his family. When I discovered that we were at the place in the exploration process that it seemed God was moving us closer to coming together and that we would need a space, I knew I wanted to see if we could get closer to Central Arlington/Downtown Arlington.

John pastors a church with an amazing footprint that is directly across the street from Arlington High School where I have had the pleasure to do ministry for almost 2 decades. Plus it is just 1/4 of a mile away from a 4000 square foot house we own to make disciples of men. Add to that, it places us closer to downtown for our ministry to least of these, the campus of UTA and our efforts to love our City leaders well.

Knowing Tyler was meeting with John about potentially renting space at IBCA was a huge deal. So, while I was suffering for Jesus at Purgatory (read that again….because it’s actually funny), I was in prayer for Tyler and John.

And, it sure does seem that the LORD was kind to answer those prayers. -Stephen Hammond
